café con leche
Un buen café con leche es todo lo que necesita para comenzar tu día bien! | A good café con leche is all you need to start your day off right!
This is one of those drinks that is so comforting to me. It brings me right back to my childhood when I would sneak sips from my parents’ mugs when they weren’t looking (or so I thought haha!). It brings me back to visiting la Republica Dominicana and having the best mug full of the sweet stuff with a perfectly pressed pan con mantequilla (bread with butter).
If you’re ever in NYC, take a trip to Washington Heights, take the 1 train all the way up to 191st Street. Right across the street from the subway station is the famous Caridad Restaurant. This place has one of my favorite café con leches and the best pan con mantequilla to go with it! (and lots of other classic Dominican eats!)
