salted chocolate chip cookies

everyone’s beloved cookie with a twist!

Who doesn’t love a warm, freshly baked chocolate chip cookie?! Its such a comforting recipe and believe me the salt only enhances the flavor. Another twist is the lack of baking soda or powder. If all your ingredients are at room temperature, you won’t need it or miss it! In fact I prefer to leave out any leavening agent with these cookies because you get an unbeatable texture; a perfectly soft and chewy center and crisp exterior . . . YUM! Hope you all give this one a try, enjoy!

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 375° F.

  2. Combine flour and baking soda in small bowl.

  3. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.

  4. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in chocolate chips. Make tablespoon sized disks and place them onto parchment paper lined baking sheets. Add extra chocolate chips on top and sprinkle with flaky sea salt.

  5. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. You’ll want to take them out a little before they look ready. That’s the key to make perfect cookies!

  6. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks and cool completely.
