turmeric chai spiced granola

Take life one chai at a time.

Who doesn't love some crunchy granola? And yes you can always get it from Trader Joe’s or Whole Foods or wherever you go to get your fix, but you could also make it at home. And chances are, you have everything you need in your kitchen right now! Feel free to adjust this recipe as you see fit, there’s no wrong combo for granola, the more the merrier! Give this one a try and enjoy the lovely, spiced filled air that will soon fill your home.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric

  • 3 cups rolled oats / i’ve made this recipe with both gluten free oats and traditional oats, both are equally delicious!

  • 1/2 cup unsalted almonds / roughly chopped

  • 1/2 cup unsalted pumpkin seeds

  • 1/4 melted coconut oil

  • 1/2 cup maple syrup

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • a sprinkle of salt

DIRECTIONS

  1. Heat the oven to 325° F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper .

  2. Combine oats, almonds and pumpkin seeds in a bowl.

  3. In a large bowl, whisk coconut oil, maple syrup, vanilla extract and all the spices.

  4. Add the dry ingredients into the large bowl of wet ingredients and mix until evenly combined.

  5. Spread mixture on the parchment lined baking sheet, sprinkle with salt. Bake for 30 - 35 minutes. Halfway through turn the baking sheet for an even bake.

  6. After baking allow the granola to fully cool (about 30 minutes) before you break up the granola.

  7. Enjoy! Store in an airtight container for up to 3 weeks.
