tilapia in a lemon caper sauce

Look no further, this is the tilapia recipe above them all.

This is the kind of recipe that I would order on one of our date nights. It looks super impressive, yet it’s very easy to make and the portions are perfect for two! ;) So maybe give this one a try, your next night in with your loved one. The recipe calls for white wine, and I am a firm believer in using wine that you would enjoy drinking, for your recipes. So you already have all working pieces to a sweet, romantic night in! Hope you all enjoy!

DIRECTIONS

  1. Pat the fillets dry with paper towels. Sprinkle with salt and pepper and use the flour to coat each filet lightly with it.

  2. In a large skillet, melt about 3 tablespoons of butter with olive oil over medium heat.

  3. After the bubbling butter subsides, add the fillets into the skillet. Sauté over medium heat until lightly golden or cooked to your liking.

  4. Remove the cooked fillets and set aside.

  5. Reduce the heat to medium-low. Add the capers, garlic, red pepper flakes, fish sauce and wine. Stir to scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Cook until the alcohol has evaporated, about 2 minutes. Add the lemon juice and about 1 tablespoon of butter to create a smooth sauce. Stir in the parsley and taste.  Season with salt and pepper if needed.

  6. Remove the pan from the heat and pour the sauce over the fish. And enjoy!
